ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (Making Machines Learn)

Humans have natural cognitive (logical/Reasoning) power and it is human’s brain which made machines intelligent. From last so many years, machines are following human commands. But now they are smart enough to imitate human intelligence as well as human behavior, because man made them so. This is all possible with the help of AI.

Artificial Intelligence is an internet enabled technology, used to make machines capable of performing tasks that requires human level intelligence. AI is branch of computer

science that concerns with building smart machines.

First AI Program was written in 1952, this program could play a complete game of checkers at a reasonable speed and could give tough competition to human.

Different Field Areas where AI works (Application Areas)

• Face recognition: A facial recognition system or machine identifies faces by mapping facial features with a pre stored database.Examples: iPhone’s Face-ID, When you tag people on Facebook, it creates a link to their profiles.

• Speech recognition: Machines use AI to optimize speech recognition function. Example : Amazon’s Alexa or Apple’s Siri.

• E-mail filtering: AI is being used by Email services to filter emails. One can make Spam filters trained by making emails as spam.

• Personalization: Application like Netflix uses AI to present relevant content in front of you by learning your previous choices.

Types Of AI

Narrow AI: is also known as weak AI. These machines have fewer abilities. It is a type which is capable to do specific task only with relevant to human brain. Examples: Playing chess with computer

Self-driving cars

IBM’s Watson Super computer

Robots managing household tasks

General AI: is also known as strong AI or Deep AI. These machines can understand, think, inference, act and solve problems much like human beings and can be applied to solve any intellectual problem.As of now there is no perfect example of GAI.

With the rapid growth of Strong AI, a fear is there in mind whether machines will take over the jobs or place of human being!

Conclusion: Now Question arises With Strong AI or Super AI (which is still hypothetical concept),

“Will machines be able to replace all human race ?”

According to me it will take lot of time and efforts to build such system. Not in near future.
